SPOKANE, Wash. – The Vandals and the rest of the conference met up in Spokane this weekend to set the tone for the upcoming 2021 season at the annual Big Sky Football Kickoff.
Walker Named Preseason Defensive MVP

Tre Walker has been named the Big Sky Conference Preseason Defensive Most Valuable Player, as voted on by the league coaches and the media.
"I want to thank everybody," said Walker. "Everybody. The entire University of Idaho staff, my family, friends, coaches, mentors, everybody. Thank you everybody for that commitment you have to me and that belief you have in my dreams."
Walker, Kendall Earn Preseason Nods
Idaho's Big Sky Football Kickoff representatives,
Logan Kendall and
Tre Walker, were both recognized by the league as Preseason All-Big Sky selections.
Both had outstanding spring seasons in 2021. Walker led the Big Sky with 13.5 tackles per game and earned five All-America honors along the way. Kendall was a force to be reckoned with as a fullback, and also caught a pair of touchdowns. Both enter their fourth years with Idaho in the fall.
ROOT Sports Schedule Released
The conference also announced its national television schedule for the upcoming season. Idaho's matchup with Eastern Washington on October 16 in Cheney was selected by ROOT Sports.
