FARMINGTON, Utah – The Big Sky Conference announced the results of the women's cross country preseason poll today. The Vandal women were selected to finish fifth.
Northern Arizona was unanimously picked to win the conference garnering all 11 first place votes and 121 points. Weber State (104), Montana State (93), and Southern Utah (89) were selected second, third, and fourth respectively, just in front of Idaho (79).
The Vandals are coming off a fifth-place finish at the 2021 Big Sky Winter Cross Country Championship. Two of the top three finishers for Idaho graduated. The top returner is
Nell Baker who was 21st at the race.
The cross country season will get underway on September 3, as the Vandals travel to Cheney, Washington, to compete at the Clash of the Inland Northwest. The Big Sky Championships is scheduled for October 29 in Portland, Oregon.
