Camp Progressing for Vandal Football

MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho football continues its preseason preparations for the 2021 season, presented by Immunize Idaho. Monday night will be the fourth practice of the fall, leading into the squads' first off day on Tuesday.

The Vandals will take the field for their first official scrimmage on Saturday morning, before shifting the training schedule heading into the final week before school officially begins. Season and single game tickets are on sale now at GoVandals.com/Tickets or by calling the Vandal Ticket Office at 208-885-6466.

Head coach Paul Petrino spoke with the media following the first practice and highlighted the passion and energy he had seen thus far.

"I liked the energy, I thought our energy was great," said Petrino. "I thought the guys came out here, felt like they were working really hard and it just felt good."

Less than four months off since the last regular season game, the Vandals are not interested in any excuses and have elected to look on the bright side of the shortened spring season.

"The advantage is that we got a bunch of reps for a bunch of young guys," Petrino said. "Especially because of Covid, we had a whole bunch of freshmen that played a lot and would have probably not played in a normal year. I'd say that's the biggest advantage.

"Our guys are fired up. They're excited. They feel really good about themselves and about our team. We had one game last year where we had our whole team, and that was the first Eastern game, and we've added some really good players, so I think they're excited about it.
