RENO, Nev. – Savannah Foster scored her first goal of the season to push Idaho women's soccer to a 1-0 win over Nevada, and help the Vandals improve to 5-1, the best start in program history.

Foster's goal was paired with Avrie Fox's shutout secured the win. Fox faced seven shots and notched four saves on the game.

The Vandals and Wolfpack remained tied at 0-0 after the first period but Foster found the goal in the 69th minute of the game. Taylor Brust provided the assist for the goal.

Idaho's 5-1 record is the best record in program history, besting 1999's record of 4-1-1 through six games.

The Vandals have the chance to improve the great start this weekend with games in the Kibbie Dome against California Baptist Thursday at 7 p.m. and St. Thomas on Saturday at 7 p.m.
