Men's Hoops Finish Out Road Trip at Northern Arizona on Monday

The Vandals round out a four-game road trip in Flagstaff when they travel to take on Northern Arizona on Jan. 17 at 5 p.m. Pacific Time.

SUCCESS FROM THREE: On the season, Idaho is best in the conference and 20th in the nation in team three-point percentage (38.3). The Vandals have shot 43 percent or better in six games, including a season-high 54 percent on 13-of-24 shooting against South Dakota State (12/8). Mikey Dixon has knocked down shots from behind the arc at a consistent rate this season, leading the team at 47.5 percent from three. 

FREE THROW FREEBIES: Dixon leads the team when it comes to scoring from the foul line, placing first in the conference and fourth nationally with 93 made free throws. Dixon also places second best in the Big Sky in FT percentage (86.9). Backcourt teammate Trevante Anderson has also been productive from the charity stripe, knocking down 57 shots, which is good enough for fifth-best in the conference.
 
SCOUTING THE VANDALS:
 Idaho is 3-12 on the season and 0-5 in league play. The Vandals are 1-4 in their last five games and 0-6 on the road. 
 
Offensively, Idaho averages 74.4 points per game. They lead the Big Sky and rank 20th nationally in 3-point percentage (38.3). The Vandals have been exceptional at making shots from the foul line, ranking fourth in the conference and 38th in the nation with 244. 
  
Three Vandals average double digits on the season, including a top-3 scorer in the Big Sky in Mikey Dixon, who is averaging 17.9 points per contest. Backcourt teammate Trevante Anderson adds 11.7 per game while Rashad Smith pitches in 10.2. Anderson has also been the team's facilitator on the floor, averaging 4.3 assists per game which is third-best in the Big Sky. 

In five conference games, Dixon averages a league-best 23.2 ppg while shooting 47 percent from the field and 89 percent from the foul line. Rashad Smith has also been effective in league play, especially from behind the arc where he is ranked second-best among Big Sky players, shooting 48 percent from three. 

SCOUTING THE LUMBERJACKS: Northern Arizona is 5-9 overall and 1-2 in conference action. NAU has lost four of their last five games while most recently picking up a 101-54 win over Embry-Riddle on Jan. 5. 
  
The 'Jacks are scoring 69.4 ppg and allowing 72.6 ppg. NAU has been one of the most consistent teams from behind the arc in the Big Sky, ranking second in three-point percentage (37.4). 

Two Lumberjacks average double-digits on the season, including the second-leading scorer in the conference in Jalen Cone with 18 ppg. Cone also ranks third in three-point percentage (41.9), fourth in free-throw percentage (85.2), and seventh in field-goal percentage (38.0) in the Big Sky. Forward Nik Mains has also been an efficient scorer for the 'Jacks, averaging 11.9 points on 46 percent from the field. 

SERIES HISTORY: Idaho is 41-26 all-time against NAU. The Vandals most recently fell in both games last year to the Lumberjacks in Moscow, 78-65 and 83-78.
