BOZEMAN, Mont. -- The Idaho men's basketball team (5-16, 2-9) fell to Montana State (16-5, 8-2), 70-64 on Saturday evening at Worthington Arena.
Three Vandals scored in double figures, including career-high scoring performances from
JeMeil King and
Ethan Kilgore. King added a game-high 15 points on 5-8 shooting while Kilgore pitched in 11 points and six boards to help lead the Vandals.
Guard
Trevante Anderson scored 14 points while
Rashad Smith came off the bench and tallied nine points and a personal best of 12 boards.
Idaho shot 38 percent from the field and 29 percent from three in the opening 20 minutes of action as the Vandals trailed 29-24 after the first half. The Bobcats led by as many as 13 in the opening period but the Vandals clawed their way back with timely stops to only find themselves down two possessions.
MSU shot 46 percent from the field in the second half, making crucial baskets down the stretch and halting Idaho's late second-half surge to ultimately earn the victory, 70-64.
The Vandals outrebounded Montana State 42 to 29 and outscored the Bobcats in the paint 30 to 16.
Idaho turned the ball over 17 times that the Bobcats turned into 12 points.
