ST. GEORGE, Utah – The Idaho swimming and diving team dropped its final conference meet of the season, 147-115 in a matchup against Dixie State on Saturday afternoon.  
The Vandals won five of the 14 events in the dual meet against the Trailblazers. Dixie State started the day by winning the first three events and capped off the meet by earning wins in the final two events. 
Junior 
Kaling Phung got the Vandals going with a first-place finish in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 59.21. Two events later, 
Bindi Pedersen earned nine points for Idaho after clocking in at 2:10.51 in the 200-yard butterfly for the top spot. 
Idaho had back-to-back first-place finishes after another impressive effort from Phung in the 200-yard backstroke, where she fended off Dixie State's Ally Boynton (2:08.73) with a finish in 2:07.59. Laura Rogriguez-Fernandez clocked in at 2:21.27 in the 200-yard breaststroke to add nine points to Idaho's team score.  
Phung capped off her weekend with three individual wins on the day, earning first in the 100-yard butterfly in 59.21 that featured a battle with teammate 
Bindi Pedersen who followed right behind in 59.92 for a runner up finish.
NEXT UP: Idaho will host their final home meets of the season when they welcome the College of Idaho on Feb. 12 and Ottowa on Feb. 13.
