Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Vandal Soccer Tops UNC 1-0 to Move to 4-0 in Big Sky Play

GREELEY, Colo. – Four games into the Big Sky schedule and Vandal women's soccer has followed the same formula for every game. One goal, a shutout and a Vandal win. Sunday, Annika Farley provided the goal, Kira Witte notched her 10th-straight shutout and the Vandals topped Northern Colorado 1-0 in Greeley.

The Vandals held Northern Colorado to just three shots on goal for the entire game, despite being outshot 15-14 for the games. The Bears also had nine corner kicks to just four for Idaho.

The Bears had two shots and three corner kicks in just the first seven minutes, but the Vandals battled back. In the 23rd minute, Savannah Foster found Margo Schoesler on top of the box, she drove a shot which hit the right post, but Farley followed with low shot to left side of the goal and UNC goalkeeper couldn't cover as the Vandals took the 1-0 lead.

The Vandals kept the pressure on in the second half, Idaho tallied five shots on goal, but didn't add to the goal total.

Between the posts, Witte continued her Big-Sky Record shutout streak alive and is now at 10-straight and 11 total in just 12 career games. She is now tied for third on the Idaho career shutout record list.

Idaho is now 4-0 in Big Sky Play and 9-1-2 overall. The Vandals are the only Big Sky team without a loss or tie on their Big Sky schedule and Idaho has played three of its four games on the road.
