MOSCOW, Idaho — The Idaho men's basketball team hosts its lone exhibition game prior to the 2022-23 season on Tuesday, when the squad takes on Evergreen State at ICCU Arena. Tip is scheduled for 6 p.m. PT. Admission will be free.
Idaho's roster returns five student-athletes from a season ago, and a mix of six transfers and four freshmen.
The five returnees include, Jack Hatten, Michael Hanshaw, Rashad Smith, Yusef Salih and RJ Walker. Smith and Salih started in a combined 40 games for the Vandals in 2021-22. Smith averaged 10.1 points, 5.1 rebounds and a shot a Big Sky best 43.9 percent from three in his first season at Idaho. Salih posted 6.1 points per game and recorded a 38.5 three-point percentage in his true freshman season.
Six transfers joining the new look Vandals are Dominique Ford (College of Southern Nevada), Terren Frank (Vanderbilt), John Harge (Northeastern Oklahoma), Isaac Jones (Wenatchee Valley College), Divant'e Moffitt (Seattle Pacific) and Trey Smith (San Jose State). The freshmen are led by Nigel Burris, a three-star (247 Sports) forward from San Francisco, Calif. Mikhail Abdul-Hamid, Tyler Halligan and Titus Yearout also join the squad as incoming freshmen.
The Vandals open the season a week from today on Monday, Nov. 7 at the University of Denver. The game is scheduled to get underway at 4 p.m. PT.
