MOSCOW, Idaho -- The University of Idaho Track & Field/Cross Country program is thrilled to announce Hanna Tait as a future Vandal. Tait comes to Idaho from New South Wales, Australia.
Tait boasts an impressive overall score of 4846 points in the heptathlon (100-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put, 200 meters, long jump, javelin, 800 meters) a mark which she achieved in December 2021.
An all-around talented athlete, Tait has run 25.03" in the 200 meters, 14.72 in the 100-meter hurdles, jumped 5.41 meters in the long jump and 1.60 meters in the high jump and thrown 10.39 meters in the shot put and 37.8 meters in the javelin.
Selected to represent Australia at the Oceania Games in both 2021 and 2022, Tait is no stranger to high levels of competition. Among the numerous athletic achievements Hanna has earned at the national level include a silver and bronze medal at the Australian National under-20 championships in 2021 and 2022 respectively. She has also won multiple medals at the Queensland State Heptathlon and NSW & ACT State heptathlon.
Tait is a school vice-captain at McAuley Catholic College and has earned the best all-arounder award along with many other academic and community achievements.
