SPOKANE, Wash.— The Idaho women's tennis team (1-2, 0-0 BSC) fell to Gonzaga (3-3,0-0 WCC) 6-1 on Saturday at the Stevens Center. 
 
The Zags controlled the doubles point winning all three matches to take an early 1-0 lead heading into singles action. 
 
Partners Melissa Huchet and Andrea Redondo were the first to finish in doubles play, as the pair fell to Tiegan Aitken and Kianna Oda, 6-2. The Zags kept the momentum at the No. 1 doubles position, defeating Ke Syuan Jhang and Ines Oliveira, 6-4.

In singles, Jhang got Idaho on the board after taking down Frederikke Svarre in straight sets, 6-4, 6-4 at the No. 3 spot. Jhang moves to 3-0 in dual action on the season. 
    
Oliveira went the distance at No. 2 singles but was unable to close out Adrianna Sosnowska (4-6, 6-2, 7-10). 
 
NEXT UP: Idaho will be back in action in Eugene, Oregon next week for two matches against Oregon and Saint Mary's. The Vandals will first face the Ducks on Feb. 25 at noon before closing out the weekend against the Gaels on Feb. 26 at noon.
