Vandal Women's Golf Opens Spring Season at Texas State

MOSCOW, Idaho – The Vandal women's golf team travels to Texas for the Texas State Invite Monday and Tuesday at the Plum Creek Golf Club in Kyle, Texas. It will be the first tournament under new head coach Stephanie Young.
 
The tournament will include 15 teams, including Texas A&M, BYU and most of the Division I teams from Texas. The teams will play 36 holes Monday and 18 on Wednesday with a shotgun start beginning at 8:30 a.m.
 
The Vandals showed improvement throughout the fall, finishing third in the final tournament of 2021 at the Rainbow Wahine Invite in California.
 
Vicky Tsai led the Vandals with a 74.6 per round average during the fall. Valeria Patino was second on the team with a 74.9 per round average.
 
The tournament is the first of five spring tournaments in the build up to the Big Sky Conference championship on April 18.
