PHOENIX – The Vandal women finished eighth, second among Big Sky schools, at the 19-team Grand Canyon Invite at the Grand Canyon Championship Course in Phoenix.
Yvonne Vinceri led the way for Idaho, tied for 26th with a three-round score of 223.
Eddie Hsu tallied the best Vandal round of the day, a 74 to finish tied for 29th at 224 and
Vicky Tsai closed her weekend a stroke behind Hsu with a 225.
Valeria Patino finished tied for 59th with a 230 and
Jenna Bruggeman was tied for 76 with a three-round 236. Bruggeman's second-round 71 was Idaho's low round for the tournament.
The Vandals finished eighth overall with a score of 897, just one stroke behind Gonzaga at 296. Northern Arizona was the lone Big Sky school ahead of Idaho. The Lumberjacks finished sixth with a score of 887 behind a solid third round.
The Vandals finished five strokes ahead of Southern Utah, eight strokes ahead of Boise State, and well ahead of Portland State, Montana State and Eastern Washington who were also in the field.

The Vandals are off for three weeks before heading back to Arizona for the NAU Red Rocks Invite in Sedona on March 20-21.
