MESA, Ariz. – Idaho men's tennis fell to Arizona State, 4-0 in the first round of the spring break tournament Friday afternoon at the Kiwanis Tennis Center.Â

The Sun Devils took command of the match right from the start.
Bruno Casino and
Francisco Bascon lost to Christian Lerby and Moritz Hoffmann, 6-1 at the No. 1 doubles position. Alejandro Salvador and
Mario Duron Garza were bested by Max McKennon and Spencer Brachman, 6-3, at the No. 3 spot as ASU clinched the doubles point.Â
In singles, the Vandals lost at the No. 6, 5 and 3 positions. Salvador fell to Brachman, 6-0, 6-1 while Duron followed with a 6-2, 6-4 loss to George Stoupe. Lerby clinched the match win for the Sun Devils after taking care of business over Casino, 6-4, 7-6.Â
NEXT UP: The Vandals will get set for day two of the eight-team tournament, as they face off against Penn State on Saturday at 9 a.m. PT.
