EUGENE, Ore. – Idaho men's golf wrapped up the final day at the Oregon Duck Open, finishing in 10th place on Tuesday at the Eugene Country Club.
"Overall, I am very proud of the way we handled ourselves in probably the toughest tournament that we will face all year," head coach
David Nuhn said. "The field had seven top-70 teams and a big number of top-100 players and our guys didn't back down. I am proud of the fight our guys showed as we build momentum heading towards the Big Sky Championship."
T.J. Patterson delivered a top-20 finish in the 14 team field, finishing tied for 19 overall with a three-round total score of 218, his best tournament as a Vandal.
"T.J. has worked really hard, he shows up every day and puts in the effort," Nuhn said. "It is wonderful to see that work manifest itself in a top-20 finish in an incredibly tough field. I am really proud of him and look forward to see him continue to build going forward."
Jose Suryadinata shot the best round on day two for Idaho, carding a two-over 73 that included four birdies to finish in a tie for 45th place.
Idaho moved up one spot to finish in the top-10 in the team standings after recording a 296 in the third round.
Colt Sherrell recorded a third-round score of 74 to finish tied for 35th place while
Tommy McKenzie shot four-over to finish with a total score of 226.
Jack Plaster finished 86th with a final score of 237.
Matt McGann wrapped up his final round with a total score of 231 to finish in a tie for 74th.
The Vandals will head to Washington next month to compete in the Chambers Bay Invitational from April 4 to April 5.
