SPOKANE, Wash. – The Vandal Outdoor Track and Field teams open the 2022 outdoor season with a strong showing at the Buc Scoring Invite hosted by Whitworth University
The Vandals swept the 1500 meter races.
Nell Baker won the women's race with a time of 4:31.7, teammate
Katja Pattis was just behind with a time of 4:32.1.
Lorenz Herrmann won the men's race with a Boppell track record time of 3:47.46.
Deyondre Davis won the 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.78 seconds. He also took second in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 53.32
Franziska Stoehr won the women's 400 meters with a time of 56.63
The Idaho men went one, two, three in the men's 100-meter dash.
Jurrian Hering led the way with a time of 10.70 seconds,
Khalil Forehand was second with a time of 10.85 seconds and
Jemini Archer took third with a time of 10.89 seconds.
The Vandal men also swept the podium in the 400-meter hurdles.
Alex Ayers won the event with a time of 53.28. Davis took second and
Cole Alteneder placed third with a time of 54.73.
Zac Bright took second in the men's 800-meter run with a time of 1:52.31 and
Ben Shaw placed third with a time of 1:53.12
Olivia Martin won the women's 200-meter dash with a time of 25.24. She also placed fourth in the 100-meter dash with a time of 12.42 seconds.
Caleb Hagen and
Spencer Barrera went one-two in the men's 200 meters. Hagen finished first with a time of 21.57 and Barrera was just behind with a time of 21.66
Grady Leonard had a field day with impressive performances in three events. He won the shot put with a throw of 18.24 meters which set a facility record. He took second in the hammer throw 63:67 meters and placed fifth in the discus throw with a toss of 44.64 meters.
Noah Culbertson took second in the shot put with a throw of 16.66 meters. He also placed fourth in the discus with a throw of 45.39 meters.
Cullen Williams placed third in the hammer throw with a throw of 61.23 meters.
Hannah Ringel won the women's shot put with a throw of 14.53 meters.
Julia Hayes won the women's high jump with a jump of 1.67 meters.
Arianna Bush won the women's triple jump with a jump of 11.45 meters.
Nathyn Maller placed second in the men's javelin with a throw of 58.30 meters.
Lachlan Smith took second in the men's long jump with a mark of 6.81 meters.
The Vandals will be back in action next weekend when they travel to Eugene, Ore to participate in the Hayward Open April 1-2
