LEWISTON, Idaho – Idaho women's tennis dropped its final regular-season home match of the season to Sacramento State, 5-2 on Saturday afternoon at the LCSC Tennis Center.

Before the match, head coach Sanne Louwers honored senior Melissa Huchet as she played her final home match for the Vandals.

Ke Syuan Jhang and Nicole Horacek were victorious in singles action to help claim Idaho's two team points.

Sac State got off to a quick start, earning wins at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles to take an early 1-0 advantage.

The Vandals got on the scoreboard after the Hornets had increased their lead to 3-0, with victories at No. 2 and No. 3 singles positions. Jhang picked up her 9th win on the season and moves to 5-1 in conference play after defeating Sac State's Weronika Ejsmont 6-4, 6-4 at No. 1.

The Hornets added two more singles victories at No. 4 and No. 6 increasing its lead to 5-1.

Horacek ended the match on a positive note, defeating Grace McSkimming in a three-set thriller at the No. 5 spot. The Vancouver, Canada native split the first two sets by a score of 6-2 before Horacek won in a 13-11 tiebreaker.

The Vandals move to 4-11 overall (2-4 BSC) on the season while Sac State improves to 4-16 (3-4 BSC).

NEXT UP: Idaho will travel to Pocatello to face in-state rival Idaho State Wednesday, April 20 at 1 p.m. PT.
