Vandal Track Performs Well at Hayward Premiere

EUGENE, Ore. – The Vandal Outdoor Track and Field teams continued the hot start to the 2022 season with an impressive outing that included five first-place finishes at the Hayward Premiere.  

Kelsey Swenson won the women's 5000 meters with a time of 16:47.67. 

Maya Kobylanski won the women's 1500 meters in 4:25.88. 

Deyondre Davis won the men's 400-meter hurdles with a time of 53.37 seconds. 

Davis, Cole Altender, Spencer Barrera, and Alex Ayers led the Vandals to a big win in the men's 4x400 meter relay with a time of 3:15.57. Barrera also took third in the men's 400-meter dash (47.99).

Grady Leonard finished the men's shot put as the top college athlete and second overall with a throw of 17.62 meters, breaking the meet record. He also finished sixth in the hammer throw with a throw o 64.84 meters. 

Hannah Ringel placed third in the women's shot put with a throw of 15.16 meters. 

Justyn Rogers took fourth in the men's long jump with a jump of 7.05 meters, just behind in fifth was Zachary Nunis with a jump of 6.93 meters. 

Joseph Ruddell took fourth in the men's high jump with a mark of 2.05 meters. 

Katja Pattis placed second in the women's 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:22.67. Sam Fulbright took fourth in the men's race with a time of 9:14.86.

Lorenz Herrmann took second in the men's 800 meters Invite with a time of 1:47.79. Zac Bright took third in the men's 800 meters with a time of 1:5013.

Tim Stevens placed third in the men's 1500 meters with a time of 3:49.81

Franziska Stoehr took third in the women's 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:01.86.

Jurrian Hering took fourth in the men's 110-meter hurdles with a time of 14.39 seconds. 

The Vandals will be back in action next weekend when they make the short trip up to Spokane, Wash. To run in the Whitworth Peace Meet on April, 8.
