MOSCOW, Idaho - The University of Idaho Track & Field/Cross Country program is thrilled to announce that the Idaho 5A discus state champion Lily Phenicie from Coeur d'Alene High School has signed with the Vandals.
Lily burst onto the Idaho throws scene as a junior placing third at the Idaho state meet in the discus and shot put. Her top throws as a junior in the shot put and discus were set in April after a heave of 41'1.75" in the shot put, and 135'2" in the discus at the Lakeland Take Flight Invitational. Lily was named team most-valuable player of the Coeur d'Alene track and field team and was the top point scorer for the team in 2021.
As a senior Lily bettered her marks and established herself as a the top discus thrower in Idaho. At the state championships in May, she set a new personal best of 136'8" and won the event by over 2 feet. For her accomplishments as a standout student-athlete Lily was nominated for the North Idaho Athletic Hall of Fame. In addition Lily was awarded the Bicentennial Female Athlete of the Year.
