Women's Basketball Reveals 2022-23 Non-Conference Slate

MOSCOW, Idaho – The University of Idaho women's basketball team opens the season with a pair of Pac-12 road trips before traveling to Maryland, California and Texas before hosting the University of Denver on December 15 to highlight a non-conference schedule.

"This year's schedule continues with my philosophy to challenge ourselves in the preseason to get ready for an extremely tough Big Sky race," Idaho head coach Jon Newlee said. "We start right off with the Pac-12 tournament runner-up, then take on another Pac-12 team in Cal. I love the fact that we have three neutral site games which will prepare us for the tournament in Boise. We have tough road trips against really good, quality opponents to get us ready for the Big Sky. I would have liked to have more home games but unfortunately, that didn't work out, but looking ahead already to next year our home schedule will be very strong. We have a great mix of different styles so we will not be surprised by anything we see in the Big Sky. Looking forward to seeing how our team handles the hard road ahead!"

The Vandals host Seattle Pacific on Oct. 30 for the lone exhibition game of the season.

The first road game of the year sees the Idaho women travel to Salt Lake City to face the University of Utah in the season opener on Nov. 7. The Vandals then make a trip to Berkeley, California, to face the University of California on Nov. 16.

Idaho competes in its first non-conference tournament of the season in Annapolis, Maryland for the Navy Classic on Nov. 26-27. Idaho plays Richmond on Nov. 26 and Naval Academy on Nov 27.
The Vandals then travel to San Diego for the USD Winter Classic. Idaho goes up against Nevada on Dec. 3 and New Mexico State on Dec. 4.

A road trip to play Texas A&M Commerce on Dec. 7 follows before playing UTSA on Dec. 10.

The Silver and Gold make their return to ICCU Arena for their lone non-conference home game against the University of Denver on December 15.

Idaho returns to the road to face Grand Canyon University on Dec. 18 and Utah Valley on Dec. 21.

The Vandals return from the break to open conference action at home with Montana State on Jan. 29 and Montana on Dec. 31.

Idaho will continue Big Sky play through Feb. 27. The Vandals will get a week of preparation before traveling to Boise for the Big Sky tournament, Mar. 4-8.
