MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho spends another weekend away from Moscow as they hope to earn two more wins in Big Sky play. The Vandals will travel to Eastern Washington on Saturday at 1 p.m. for a doubleheader with the men's teams and then will end the long weekend at Montana State on Monday at 6 p.m. Both games will be broadcast on ESPN+ and will be available via a radio broadcast and can be heard on AM 849 KMAX or GoVandals.com.
ABOUT IDAHO: The Vandals are 2-2 in the Big Sky after two weekends of competition. Idaho was unable to add to the win column after a weekend away at Sacramento State (56-71) and Portland State (43-53). Despite the losses, freshman
Rosa Smith made a statement scoring 37 points on the weekend, including 30 against Sacramento St. As always,
Beyonce Bea has been a consistent chart-topper, leading the Big Sky in points and points per game as well as sitting top-10 in the NCAA in both categories.
Sydney Gandy has scored in the double digits in more than half of the games played this season. The Vandals look to reset this weekend as they head to Eastern Washington and Montana State.
ABOUT EASTERN WASHINGTON: The Eagles are 8-6 on the year and 1-3 in Big Sky. EWU also took on Sacramento State and Portland State, defeating the Vikings 65-56 and losing to the Hornets 74-82. The Eagles have four athletes that have 30+ points on the season, led by Jaydia Martin with 40. EWU has shot 41.7% from the field, 30.6% from the three-point range, and 72.8% from the line.
ABOUT MONTANA STATE: The Bobcats are 9-7 overall and 2-2 in Big Sky. Montana State split the past weekend, defeating Northern Colorado 61-40 and losing to Northern Arizona 80-85. Lexi Deden leads the Bobcats with 50 points this season, shooting 43.5% from the field and 75% from the line.
SERIES HISTORY: Idaho is looking to tie the series against Eastern Washington as the Eagles have the advantage 42-21. The Vandals won the last meeting 79-72 on Feb. 19, 2022. Montana State leads the series 22- 38, but the Vandals are inching closer following the 72-53 win at home on Dec. 29, 2022.
