MOSCOW, Idaho – The Vandal cross country squads excelled not only on the course but also in the classroom this past fall. Both the women's and men's squads were named USTFCCCA All-Academic teams.
Kelsey Swenson was the sole Vandal that earned a spot on the women's All-Academic team.
The men's program earned the second-highest GPA in all of division one with an average of 3.77, only .002 behind the leading program. The women ended the season with a 3.68 GPA, landing in the top half of honored teams.
Kelsey Swenson earned the All-Academic distinction with a cumulative GPA of 3.93. In order to qualify for All-Academic distinction, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 on a 4.0 scale and finish in the top 25 (or 10 percent) at the NCAA Regional Championships or as an All-American at the NCAA Championships. Swenson finished 11
th overall in the 6K at the NCAA West Region XC Championships in the fall.
