MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho volleyball team fell to Weber State, 14-25, 20-25, 21-25, in a home match on Saturday night at Memorial Gym.
Zuzanna Wieczorek helped lead the attack with seven kills for the Vandals while
Taryn Vrieling added six.
Aine Doty led the defensive effort with 16 digs.
Weber State took the first set, 25-14. The Vandals put up six kills and two aces in the set. The Wildcats went on an 8-0 run midway through and the Vandals weren't able to come up with a response.
The Vandals put up a fierce comeback effort but the Wildcats won set two, 25-20. Idaho trailed 21-12 and battled back with a late 8-2 run, but it wasn't enough to stop the Wildcats. The Vandals tallied 13 kills in the set, four coming from Vrieling.
Weber State won the match with a 25-21 set three win. It was another close battle towards the end but the Vandals weren't able to complete the comeback.
The Vandals will hit the road next week to face the Portland State Vikings on Thursday, Nov. 2 and Sacramento State on Saturday, Nov. 4.
