MOSCOW, Idaho - Idaho Track and Field/Cross Country is thrilled to welcome distance runner, Anna Thaumiller to the Vandal squad in the fall of 2024. Thaumiller, of Schönau am Königssee, Bavaria, Germany, is a decorated steeplechaser and brings national experience to a talented Vandal crew.
Thaumiller attends CJD Christophorusschulen Berchtesgaden and competes in numerous events including the 800m, 1000m, 1500m, and the 2K steeplechase.
In recent German Championships, Anna finished third in the 2K steeplechase. She also snagged a fifth-place finish in the German Championship mountain run. Thaumiller also earned spots on the podium multiple times in the Bavarian Championships.
"I chose the University of Idaho because there is a great team and also a great opportunity to train the steeple," said Thaumiller. "I loved the communication with Coach Travis Floeck and I love the place, I think it's so beautiful there. I love nature, the mountains, and the steeplechase, so it's a great fit for me."
Thaumiller is excited to join Idaho's talented steeplechasers and train with coach Travis Floeck. She plans to study Exercise, Sport, and Health Sciences with plans to become a physical therapist.
