SEATTLE – The Idaho men's basketball team couldn't come back from a slow first-half start, as Seattle U rolled to a 92-55 win at the Redhawk Center on Wednesday night.
Two Vandals scored in double figures, including a team-high 12 points from
Kyson Rose on 4-of-8 shooting from the field and five rebounds.
Quinn Denker pitched in 10 points on a 5 for 8 clip.
Idaho trailed 12-9 over the first five minutes before Seattle U went out on a 19-0 run to build separation and go up 31-9 with 9:37 to play. The Redhawks continued their offensive success over the next 10 minutes building a 54-24 lead.
The Vandals were unable to stop the Redhawk offense in the first half as they shot 60 percent (21-35) from the field and 57 percent (8-14) from three while Idaho shot just 35 percent (9-26). Rebounding the basketball was another issue, as the Redhawks outrebounded the Vandals 24-9 in the first 20 minutes.
Seattle U would extend their lead to 89-49 in the second half while Idaho was unable to post a comeback as the Redhawks earned the victory, 92-55.
The Redhawks were led by a career night from Kobe Williamson, who dropped 28 points on 11-of-15 from the field.
The Vandals will take the day off tomorrow before returning to face UC San Diego on Friday at 5 pm to close out their two-game road trip.
