MOSCOW, Idaho - The Idaho Track and Field/Cross Country program is ready to welcome Jesse Redding after putting pen to paper to join the Vandals in 2024. Redding is a 2x MVP from Colfax, California.

From Colfax High School, Redding claimed her first title at the 2022 CIF-Sac Joaquin Section Championships. She finished the women's 5K at an 18:59.8 mark. She went on to take seventh in the California Division 4 Cross Country State Championships 5K with a time of 17:58.25 and 16th in the Foot Locker West Regionals 5K at 19:06. 

She most recently earned her second CIF-Sac Joaquin Section Championship solo title finishing the 2.7 mile race at 18:52.1.

Her solo victories earned her back-to-back MVP honors while also helping the Falcons win team titles both years.

"I chose to continue my athletic and academic careers at the University of Idaho because I really loved the overall feel of the campus and the surrounding areas. The team and coaches are amazing and I can tell the program at Idaho is something very special" said Redding of the university and the team. 

Redding plans to study Fire Ecology and Management at Idaho.
