MOSCOW, Idaho - The University of Idaho Track & Field/Cross Country program is thrilled to announce the commitment of Blossom Omogor of Warri, Nigeria. Omogor will join the Vandal squad after the new year.
Omogor comes to the states with a history of success in the 200m and 400m. She boasts a personal best time of 25.02 in the 200m and 55.05 in the 400m.
She has been competing hard this past year in Nigeria in preparation for the upcoming seasons. This past year alone, she has placed in the top-five in the 400m in six of her nine races. Her personal best time was a sixth place finish at the 2nd AFN Golden League in June. She placed first in the Lagos Athletics Series League with a time of 55.30. She competed at the 2023 Nigerian U20 Championships where she placed fifth with a mark of 56.78. In the 200m, she ran her personal best time at the 21st National Sports Festival in December of 2022.
Idaho is excited to have Omogor on the squad this spring and she seems equally as thrilled. She is excited to arrive in Moscow exclaiming, "Idaho has a great team of coaches and athletes as well as the best academic program for me," said Omogor.
