MOSCOW, Idaho – Xe'Ree Alexander was named to the FCS Football Central (Formerly Bluebloods) Freshman All-American Team, released by the organization Monday.
Alexander, a true freshman from Auburn, Washington, stepped into the starting spot for the first time against Montana State and has yet to give up the starting job. He is now tied for the lead in tackles for the Vandals at 60 and has 4.0 tackles for loss, a forced fumble, a QB hurry and a pass breakup on the year.
Against Montana State, he had four solo tackles, including key tackles that limited plays. He notched a career-high 13 stops against Northern Colorado, including 3.0 TFLs. He is averaging 10.0 tackles for the last three games.
Alexander played at Kennedy Catholic High School, his brother Lonyatta Alexander Jr. is a sophomore at Montana State. His father, Lonyatta Alexander Sr., played basketball at the University of Washington.
