MOSCOW, Idaho - The Idaho Track and Field/Cross Country program welcomes its next signee for 2024, Myronas Rethymniotakis, a champion sprinter from Greece.
Rethymniotakis hails from Heraklion in Crete, Greece, and competes primarily in the 110m hurdles, 400m hurdles, 200 meter, and 400 meter.
Most recently, Myronas finished sixth in the 110m hurdles at the U18 Balkan Championships in Sivas, Turkey. This summer, he took home two medals at the Greek U18 Championships winning gold in the 110m hurdles (14.16) and silver in the 400m hurdles (57.59).
"The connection I had with the coaches played a major role in my decision. I also feel like the University of Idaho would be the best fit for me athletically and academically," said Rethymniotakis.
Myronas is interested in pursuing a degree in the STEM field when he joins the Vandals in 2024.
