BOISE – The Idaho men's tennis team dropped a road tilt at Boise State Friday afternoon, 6-1 at the Boas Indoor Tennis Center.

The Broncos (3-1) claimed a 1-0 advantage after winning the doubles point. The Vandals (1-2) dropped doubles matches on courts one, two and three. In singles, Boise State won at No. 6 and 3, before clinching the match on court two.

Idaho junior Mario Duron fell to Jan Lucca Marquardt, 6-3, 6-3 and freshman Taiyo Kurata was defeated by James Van Herzeele, 6-2, 6-2. Boise State's Simon Arca Costas got the clinch at No. 2 over Idaho's Francisco Gay, 6-2, 6-1.

After the Broncos clinched, senior Bruno Casino picked up a straight-set victory (7-5, 6-0) over Caden Moortgat on court two.

Francisco Bascon and Matteo Masala both battled back from down a set to force a third-set tiebreaker on courts one and four, respectively. Bascon went back and forth with BSU's Sam Sippel in the tiebreak but was unable to finish the job, falling 13-11. Masala fell at No. 4 to John Chin, 10-5.
