MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho women's tennis made its home debut against the University of Portland on Saturday. The Vandals earned two points on the day, resulting in a 5-2 loss inside the Kibbie Dome.

Portland opened the match with the first win of the day. The pairing of Annabel Davis and Valentina Rodas fell in a tightly contested match against Iva Zelic and Sally Pethybridge by a score of 6-4 at No. 1. Selin Sepken and Jayanne Palma were able to win on court three with a 6-2 decision over Meagan Pearson and Alaia Rubio Perez. Aleks Dimitrijevic and Rimona Rouf proved to be too much for Idaho's Rachelle Starreveld and Saffron Dowse, posting a 6-4 win to clinch the doubles point.

Idaho evened the score at 1-1 after Davis started off singles play with a 6-2, 7-5 win over Pethybridge on court two. The Vandals and Pilots traded points over the next two matches, as Idaho fell on court one and picked up a victory at No. 3. Starreveld grabbed her first singles win of the season with a 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 win over Rouf.

The Vandals were unable to earn another victory in singles, as the Pilots won at No. 4, 5, and 6 spots to earn a 5-2 dual win.
