Newman Named the Big Sky Player of the Week

FARMINGTON, Utah – After a very impressive performance at the Falcon Florida Classic, Idaho's Kyndall Newman has been named Women's Golfer of the Week in the Big Sky Conference.

This marks the first award the league has announced since October, but the second in the row for the Vandals after Yvonne Vinceri won the honor on Oct. 19.

Newman finished in fourth place, shooting a four-under 212 (68, 73, 71) to secure the top-five finish.

For Newman, her 68 in the opening round marks her lowest round as a Vandal. She had 13 birdies, which was the most in her career. Her fourth-place finish is the second-best in her career, and the 212 is her best tournament finish by five strokes.

Additionally, it is her second top-five finish of the season.

As a team, the Vandals finished in second to secure their best team finish since the Big Sky Championship in 2019. The team place four women's golfers in the top-11.
