MOSCOW, Idaho -- The University of Idaho women's tennis team (2-6, 1-1 BSC) earned its first conference win of 2023 with a 5-2 win over Eastern Washington (2-5, 0-1 BSC) on Wednesday night at the Kibbie Dome. 

The Vandals won two out of three doubles matches and captured four out of six singles points to secure a 5-2 victory over their regional rival. 

Lena Beckx and Annabel Davis started off doubles action in the No. 1 spot with a 6-3 win over EWU's Isabella Foshee and Leandra Nizetic. The Eagles responded with a win on court two before duo Saffron Dowse and Rachelle Starreveld clinched the doubles point at No. 3 with a 7-6 (9-7) tiebreak victory in the No. 3 spot. 

In singles action, the Eagles evened the score at 1-1 with a straight-set win at No. 1. Starreveld and Davis each followed with a pair of singles wins to push Idaho's lead to 3-1. 

Starreveld defeated Foshee in straight sets 6-0, 7-5 in the No. 3 spot while Davis earned a 6-0, 6-7 (5-7), 6-0 win on court two. 

Beckx clinched the fourth point for the Vandals at the No. 6 position with a 6-4, 6-3 decision over Sara Vasic. Selin Sepken earned Idaho's third straight-set victory of the day, defeating Kenzington Mann 7-6 (7-3), 7-5 at No. 5 to close out a 5-2 victory.
