MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho women's tennis team (2-8, 1-2 BSC) battled to the deciding match point, but No. 63 Northern Arizona (7-3, 3-0 BSC) prevailed by way of a 4-3 victory on Friday afternoon at the Kibbie Dome.
The Vandals got out to a positive start in doubles play, opening the match by winning two out of three matches to take a 1-0 advantage.

Lena Beckx got things going with a 6-3 win on court one before duo
Saffron Dowse and
Rachelle Starreveld clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 decision at No. 3.
The Vandals notched two more wins in singles play but couldn't finish things off against the Lumberjacks.
Davis, a former Northern Arizona Lumberjack, picked up her seventh singles win over the last eight matches with a dominant straight-set victory on court one. She won 6-3, 7-5 over NAU's Sofia Markova.
Selin Sepken picked up Idaho's third point of the day and her third straight singles win. The sophomore from Turkey won in straight sets at No. 4 over Daryna Shoshyna, 7-6 (8-6), 6-3.
With the score tied at 3-3, all eyes turned to the No. 5 court as Dowse and Ava Neyestani competed in a three-set finale. Dowse earned an opening 6-4 first-set win. Neyestani fought from behind to win the second set 6-2 and carried that momentum into the third finishing with a 6-1 decision to clinch the match win for NAU.

The Vandals get back in action on Monday for a road matchup at Cal State Northridge. First serve is scheduled to get underway at 2 p.m.
