Washington State Champion Signs with the University of Idaho

The University of Idaho Track & Field/Cross Country program is excited to announce that Walla Walla standout Jake Hisaw, has committed to the Vandal family for the fall.
 
The 2022 season was a building year for Jake as he qualified for the Washington state championship meet for the first time individually in the 300 hurdles as a junior, flashing his potential and things to come in his senior year.
 
2023 saw Jake break out as a top hurdler and sprinter at the state level in Washington and regionally in the Pacific Northwest. Hisaw kicked off the season with indoor PRs in the 60 meters and 200 meters in January. By the end of the season, he had established new personal bests in the 60 meters, 100 meters, 200 meters, 110 hurdles, and 300 hurdles showcasing his range and versatility as a hurdler and sprinter.
 
His season culminated at the state championships where he would anchor the Walla Walla 4x100m relay to the state title and claim second place in the 200m in 21.56" and the 300 hurdles in 37.89". Both marks were records for Jake. Jake has earned awards as a WIAA Distinguished Scholar Athlete, Honors Scholar Athlete, and a member of the National Honors Society. He also has a Seal of Biliteracy, is a member of the Washington state Youth Congressional Advisory Council and is an Eagle Scout.
