MOSCOW, Idaho – The Vandal soccer team is at home this week where they will face Nevada on Thursday, August 31st at 6:00 p.m. in the P1FCU Kibbie Dome. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
ABOUT IDAHO: Idaho soccer finished last week 2-0 on the road, improving their record to 3-1 overall. On Thursday evening, the Vandals defeated Utah Tech 1-0. It was a close contest until Kylie Hummel found a late goal in the 77th minute heading in the ball off a cross from Margo Schoesler. The Vandals walked away with their first shutout win of the 2023 season.
On Sunday morning, the Vandals were on the road again, this time to take on UNLV. It was another tough match, but the Vandals were able to secure the win with a second-half goal from Jayd Sprague. Kira Witte helped keep the Rebels scoreless and added a 15th clean sheet to her record while recording a season-high of 11 saves.
ABOUT NEVADA: Nevada's season has begun with four consecutive away matches, where they currently sit with a record of 0-2-2. This past weekend the Wolfpack ended 0-1-1 with a 3-3 tie against Southern Utah and a 1-2 loss against Utah State.
The Vandals and the Wolfpack have played each other 13 times since 2000 and the Vandals currently lead these matchups with seven wins. Idaho hosted the last meeting in 2022, where a first-half goal carried the Vandals to a 1-0 victory.
