PROVO, Utah – The Idaho Vandal women finished tied for seventh at the Timpanogos Collegiate Invitational hosted by Utah Valley on Sept. 10-12 at the Timpanogos Golf Club in Provo, Utah. The tournament had a strong field which included 19 teams from across the country.
The Vandals closed with a final score of 866, just two over for the tournament, led by
Emma Kang and
Boram Jung who tied for 24th with a score of one-under 215.
Kang, golfing in her first-career tournament, opened play with a two-under 70 and followed that up with a one-under 71 in round two before closing with a two-over 74. She recorded a pair of eagles, one each in round one and two.
Jung started slow with a three-over 75, before battling back with a four-under 68 in round two. She closed with an even-par 72.
Jenna Bruggeman finished one-over 217 for a solid start to the season. She scored even-par 72s in her first and third rounds.
Zoe Newell finished nine-over 225 and
Emma Heyman finished 12-over 228 for the weekend, but had an outstanding three-under 69 in her opening round.
The Vandals return to Utah on Sept. 25-26 to play the Big Sky Conference 54 for IX tournament at Talons Cove in Saratoga Springs, Utah.
