OGDEN, Utah – The Vandals dropped a road match in straight sets at Weber State, 15-25, 20-25, 13-25 on Thursday night at Swenson Gym.
Taryn Vrieling had seven kills and five digs to lead Idaho.
Chiara Gennari added six kills and six digs.
Weber State won the first set, 25-15. Idaho posted seven kills, two aces and two blocks in the set. The Wildcats used a 5-0 run midway through to create separation and recorded the final three points to end the frame.
The Wildcats took the second set, 25-20. Idaho allowed the Weber State attack to hit .303 and post 14 kills en route to earning a second-set win.
Weber completed the sweep with a 25-13 win in the third set. The Vandals kept within striking distance to open the set, but the Wildcat attack made a 7-1 run to build momentum and Idaho was never able to come back.
The Vandals travel to Pocatello to face Idaho State on Saturday, Sept. 30 for a noon matchup.
