EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. – The Idaho volleyball team suffered two losses to Wisconsin-Milwaukee and SIUE on day one of the Cougar Classic on Friday.
UW-Milwaukee 3, Idaho 0
Idaho fell in three sets to Milwaukee, 13-25, 16-25, 14-25 in the opening match.
Renata Lopez Morales posted seven kills and hit .556 in the effort to lead the attack.
Lacy Cox got the bulk of the time at setter, posting 12 assists.
Aine Doty posted 15 digs to lead the team.
SIUE 3, Idaho 0
Idaho lost in straight sets to SIUE, 22-25, 19-25, 23-25 in the second match of the day. For the second consecutive contest,
Taryn Vrieling led the team in kills with 12, while
Lacy Cox posted 18 assists. Defensively,
Aine Doty recorded 19 digs and
Ceren Sert led in blocks with two.
The Vandals close out their weekend tomorrow with a matchup against Western Illinois at 8 a.m.
