TACOMA, Wash. – Highlighted by a two-under 286 in the second round, the Idaho women finished 10th and first among Big Sky teams at the Seattle U Harbottle Invite at the Tacoma Country Club.
Emma Kang and
Emma Heyman both finished four-over (220) to tie for 28th place to lead Idaho at the tournament.
Zoe Newell was just one stroke back at five-over (221) to tie for 35th place. Heyman rallied after a six-over first round and two-under in round two and even par for the final round.
Jenna Bruggeman was nine-over (225) to finish 46th for the tournament and
Kaylin Johnson closed out the scoring with a 61st-place finish at 14-over (230).
True freshman Laura Caamaño, playing as an individual, tied with Bruggeman at Nine-over (225) for the tournament.
The Vandals finished six strokes ahead of Weber State, eight strokes ahead of Northern Colorado, 19 strokes ahead of Eastern Washington and 31 strokes ahead of Portland State.
Idaho returns to action Sunday and Monday at the Eastern Washington Tri-State Invitational with five other teams from Washington, Idaho and Montana. The tournament will take place at Qualchan Golf Course in Spokane.
