MOSCOW, Idaho — Jackson Rasmussen, the No. 1 ranked high school prospect in the state of Idaho, has signed a National Letter of Intent to play basketball next season at The University of Idaho, head coach
Alex Pribble announced Wednesday.
Rasmussen (6-7, 200), a forward from Meridian, Idaho, who plays at Utah Prep (Hurricane, Utah), is ranked as the No. 52 power forward in the nation in the class of 2025 by 247 Sports. The top-ranked commit played at Owyhee High School in Meridian, Idaho during his freshman through junior season.
"Jackson is a huge addition to this program," Pribble said. "He has been a priority recruit from the moment our staff got to Idaho, and we're thrilled that he chose to be a Vandal. He checks all the boxes. His combination of skill, size, and toughness make him college ready. He has been very well coached and has gotten better each year because of his tremendous work ethic."
Rasmussen developed into a top player in the state of Idaho at Owyhee, earning First Team All-State honors, Defensive Player of the Year recognition, and was awarded State Tournament MVP. He guided the Storm to a pair of state championships in 2022 and 2024 over three seasons.
Outside of high school and prep competition, Rasmussen competed on the Idaho Select AAU team and Beauchamp Elite 3SSB (WA). He helped guide Select to a New Balance Circuit title in 2023.
"Keeping the best talent in Idaho in a Vandal uniform is important to us," Pribble continued. Idaho fans should be really excited about Jackson joining the Vandal family."
