MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho Track and Field welcomes its first signee of the 2025 class in top Idaho hurdler, Chase Lawyer. Lawyer will join the team with multiple accolades and two years of winning experiences at Boise High School.
"From my first conversation with Chase, I knew he was going to be a very special person to work with and I am thrilled he committed to Idaho," Assistant Track Coach Jeff Fiebelkorn said. "His energy and enthusiasm to improve makes him a great fit for our team and university. Chase will continue to build on the legacy set by the Vandals that have come before him in this program, and we couldn't be prouder to have him joining us next fall!"
As a junior, Lawyer placed third in the 110m Hurdles at the Idaho State Championships (13.41). Lawyer also came out ahead in the 300m hurdles, achieving a personal record and finishing fourth (38.28).
During the 2024 season, Lawyer was named the Boise High School Hurdler of the Year as well as the Idaho High School Association Athlete of the Week.
The Idaho native will join the Vandals with personal bests of 14.30 in the 110m hurdles, 38.28 in the 300m hurdles, and 55.66 in the 400m hurdles.
"What stood out to me at the University of Idaho over other schools I visited was having the opportunity to run collegiate track under Coach Fiebelkorn, getting the opportunity to pursue my degree at a renowned business college, and having the opportunity to run track in the Big Sky Conference, the same conference my dad competed in," Lawyer said.
