Last Time Out
Idaho fell in a road affair to BYU, 95-71 on Saturday in Provo. The Vandals trailed by three (41-38) at the break before the Cougars found a groove on both ends of the floor and used a 15-5 run and an 11-2 spurt to help close out any chance of a Vandal comeback.
Despite the double-digit loss, Idaho delivered one of its best shooting efforts behind the 3-point line in the last two years. As a unit, the Vandals shot 57 percent (12-21) in the effort which is the highest 3-point mark since Feb. 17, 2022, versus Montana (60.0%).
For the second time this season,
Tyler Mrus led the Vandals in scoring, tying his career high with 17 points on 4-of-8 shooting from three-point range.
Julius Mims contributed 14 points and added a team-high six rebounds.
A trio of underclassmen guards pitched in seven points each to help lead the offensive creation, as
Kristian Gonzalez,
Miles Klapper and
Kolton Mitchell made an impact.
