MOSCOW, Idaho - Idaho Track and Field welcomes its second signee of the 2025 class, Canadian sprinter Omar Chaaban. Chaaban joins the Vandals after receiving multiple awards and accolades at the secondary school and youth levels.

The Windsor, Ontario native qualified for the World U20 Championships in 2024, along with becoming a 200 meter finalist in the 2023 U18 Canadian Championship.

Chaaban holds a 100-meter personal record of 10.74 and a 200-meter best of 21.56. He has also stood out in the classroom, making the Sandwich Secondary School Honor Roll in grades 9-12.

"What stood out about the University of Idaho compared to other schools was the awesome team dynamic and atmosphere, which felt like a super supportive environment to improve both on the track and in the classroom" Chaaban said.
