MOSCOW, Idaho - The Vandals have announced another member to Idaho Track and Field's 2024 class. Jesuye Doherty, of Adelaide, South Australia, is a U20 Australian Long Jump National Champion bringing his talents to the Palouse.
Nearly a year ago in April of 2023, Doherty captured his national title at Australia's U20 Championships at the Queensland Sport and Athletics Centre in Brisbane. Doherty hit a long jump personal record of 7.25m finishing in first.
Doherty later secured another first place finish jumping 6.96m at the 2023 U20 South Australian State Championship in November. In the same meet, Doherty ran a 100m personal best, 10.73, securing second.
Doherty was named Hughes and Loveday Sports' Person of the Year in 2022 and later received the 2023 Saint Peters Jumps Trophy. As a student at Hamilton Secondary College, Doherty earned honors in2022 for Academic Excellence in Integrated Learning.

Doherty is interested in studying either cybersecurity or pre-physical therapy at the University of Idaho.
