PULLMAN, Washington - The Vandals wrapped up the Cougar Classic at Washington State University with 17 new personal records and six solo victors.
The Vandals claimed winners in both the men's and women's 400m races.
Franziska Stoehr took first for the women at 56.33 followed by freshman
Adeline Wimer in second (57.49). For the men, it was freshman
Jake Hisaw leading the pack with a personal record of 48.26.
Paige Palzinski closed the weekend with two new personal records. Palzinski took second in the women's hammer throw (50.46m) before finishing sixth in the shot put (12.18m).
Prabhasha Wickramaarachchi then ran a personal record in the women's 400 hurdles. Wickramaarachchi, of Langley, British Columbia, took first at a 1:00.43 mark.
Lara Holzhauer finished second (1:02.84) and
Belen Garcia Arias took third with a new PR of 1:03.60 to complete the podium sweep.
Zac Bright was Idaho's next winner with a new personal record of 1:48.91 in the men's 800. Bright's mark stands at fifth in the Vandal record books.
Lorenz Herrmann took second, running a season-best, 1:49.37.
In the field, sophomore
Mia Sylvester took home two medals. Sylvester finished second in the women's discus throw (42.54m) and third in the shot put (13.14m).
Noah Culbertson threw a season-best, 17.90m, in the men's shot put. Culbertson remains second in the conference in the shot put.
Jemini Archer and
Camryn Crouch led the Idaho sprinters on Saturday with podium finishes in each of their two races.
Archer crossed the tape second at 10.56 in the men's 100 and third in the men's 200 (21.62).
Crouch's 11.60 in the women's 100 placed her third before running a personal-best 23.93 in the 200 for second.
Justyn Rogers scored himself a victory in the men's long jump at 7.09m.
Annika Jozin earned another podium finish this week with a 1.66m mark in the women's high jump for second place.
The Vandals will split squads next week competing at the Oregon State High Performance Meet April 26th and 27th and the Desert Heat Classic hosted by the University of Arizona on April 27th.
