Vandal Hoops Add Transfer Guard Isaiah Brickner

Isaiah Brickner set to join the Vandals for the 2024-25 season.

MOSCOW, Idaho – The Idaho men's basketball team has officially signed junior guard Isaiah Brickner, who is set to join head coach Alex Pribble and the Vandals for the 2024-25 season.

The 6-4, 190-pound guard transfers to Idaho after spending two years at Marist College in Dutchess County, New York.

Brickner appeared in 27 games for the Red Foxes in 2023-24, posting 5.1 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.4 assists per game. The sophomore recorded at least 10 points in six games, including a season-high of 16 on a 5-of-9 clip in the Red Foxes' victory over Canisius (2/16/2024).

"Isaiah is a huge piece of the puzzle for us. He will provide immediate experience and leadership in our backcourt. His combination of size, skill, and IQ is really special" says Pribble.

As a freshman in 2022-23, Brickner made 30 starts and appeared in all 33 games. He scored 7.4 points with 3.3 rebounds and a team-best 2.6 assists per game. Brickner also led the team in steals (27) and free-throw percentage (84.9%) en route to being named to the MAAC All-Rookie Team.

Brickner posted a career-best 21 points, drilling 5-of-6 three-point attempts in the Red Foxes' MAAC quarterfinal victory over Quinnipiac (3/9/2023). The freshman helped bottom-seeded Marist to the MAAC Tournament Championship game compiling 9.7 points per game and earning All-Championship Team honors.

Prior to attending Marist College, Brickner spent a post-grad year at Sunrise Christian Academy in Bel Aire, Kansas, posting a team-best 85% clip from the free throw line.

As a senior at Saint Augustine High School in San Diego, California, he earned First Team All-League honors averaging 18 points, seven rebounds, and four assists per game, all team highs. Brickner led the Saints to the San Diego Section Open Division Championship where he scored a game-high 23 points.

"Isaiah comes from a basketball family. He's been a part of winning programs and has been coached very well throughout his career. He had a tremendous start to his career before he was limited by some injuries. Now that he's healthy, we expect a big career out of him in a Vandal uniform."

Academically, Brickner was a four-time Principal's List recipient along with All-Academic Team honors. Brickner plans to study Psychology at the University of Idaho.
