MOSCOW, Idaho – Jack Layne was 17-26 for 186 and two touchdowns and ran for another and
Jordan Dwyer caught five passes for 98 yards and a score while the defense recorded 11 sacks to lead the black team, consisting of the Idaho first team players to a 35-21 win over the white team.
The white team was given a 14-0 lead to start the game and stood strong early, forcing the black team into a three-and-out on their first possession, but couldn't capitalize.
The black team then scored on three consecutive possessions, including a short touchdown run for Layne, an 8-yard TD reception from
Mason Mini and a 23-yard touchdown reception from Eli Cummings to give the black team a 21-0 lead heading into the half.
On the first play from scrimmage of the second half,
Jaxton Eck picked off a pass on the 25-yard line and scampered down the sideline for a pick six and a 28-14 black team lead.
The white team took advantage of defensive penalties on the ensuing possession and scored when Hogan Carmichal found
Seth Shook for a 31-yard touchdown.
After trading three-and-outs, the black team got back on the board with a 46-yard TD from
Jack Wagner to Dwyer to cap the scoring.
The white team took over on their own 27, but the black defensive line racked up four consecutive sacks to shut down any chance of a comeback.
The black team racked up 342 yards of offense on 52 plays. While the defense racked up 11 sacks.
