MOSCOW, Idaho - Idaho Track & Field closed their 2024 outdoor regular season with meets at Oregon State University and the University of Arizona.
OREGON STATE HIGH PERFORMANCE MEET
Two Vandal freshmen earned podium finishes on day one in Corvallis.
Constanze Paoli ran a personal best of 10:36.90 in the women's 3000 steeplechase for third place.
McKenna Kozeluh also took third in the women's 10000m (36:30.91) while
Nathalia Campos followed at a 36:43.46 mark for fourth place.
Maya Kobylanski ran a season-best, 4:37.57, finishing fourth in the women's 1500 on Friday evening. For the men's 1500,
Shea Mattson (3:52.97) and
Tim Stevens (3:53.61) took eighth and ninth, respectively.
DESERT HEAT CLASSIC
Justyn Rogers finished eighth in the men's long jump at 7.41m, just 0.08m shy of his personal record of 7.49m at last year's Desert Heat Classic. Rogers' mark stands at fourth in the conference heading into the Big Sky Championships.
Senior
Olivia Martin ran her fastest 400 this season with a 55.20 for 19th place. Martin holds the Big Sky's fifth fastest time this year. Freshman
Blossom Omogor followed in 21st at a 55.90 mark.
Freshman
Gioele Tengattini threw a new personal record of 50.03m in the men's discus for the seventh-farthest mark in the conference. Tengattini finished in 13th and
Noah Culbertson threw 45.80m for 18th. Culbertson also earned a top-ten finish throwing 17.38m in the shot put.
In the men's 800,
Zac Bright and
Lorenz Herrmann scored top-ten finishes. Bright took ninth at a 1:49.80 mark and Herrmann finished 10th by a hair at 1:49.88.
Freshman
Hanna Tait finished 11th in the women's long jump with a personal-best 5.89m. Tait, of Grafton, NSW, Australia, has the Big Sky's eighth farthest jump this year.
In the women's high jump,
Annika Jozin's 1.65m mark was good for 10th. For the men,
Dante Cox jumped 1.95m finishing in ninth place.
Mia Sylvester finished 13th in the women's shot put (13.44m) and 16th in the hammer throw (49.26m).
Franziska Stoehr ran a 1:00.22 in the women's 400 hurdles for 16th place followed by
Prabhasha Wickramaarachchi's 1:00.53 who finished in 17th.
The Vandals have a week's break in preparation for the 2024 Big Sky Outdoor Track & Field Championships at Montana State University in Bozeman, Montana. The meet will take place from May 8th through the 11th. The meet will be streamed on ESPN+.
