MOSCOW, Idaho – Idaho men's basketball head coach
Alex Pribble continues to bolster the 2024-25 roster with local talent, announcing the signing of Spokane native Jayden Stevens to a National Letter of Intent on Wednesday.
Stevens comes to Idaho as a junior with two years of eligibility after spending two seasons at Oregon State. The 6-7, 190-pound forward appeared in 31 games for the Beavers, where he compiled 57 points, 26 rebounds, 11 assists and seven steals in an average of 10.1 minutes per game.
"Jayden impacts winning in a lot of different ways. He has great positional size and length, and he has the skill to match. His motor and activity level will immediately help our rebounding and our defense. He is also a tough matchup with his ability to shoot the ball and attack closeouts."
A four-year varsity letter winner at Gonzaga Prep and two-year starter, Stevens was a part of a Bullpups team that went 24-2 overall and won a 4A state championship in 2018-19.
"Jayden is also an energy giver. He's one of those people that you are drawn to because of his positivity. We can't wait to get Jayden in a Vandal uniform."
The two-time team captain was a Second Team All-State selection and Greater Spokane League First-Team honoree following a senior season where he averaged 19.4 points and 9.2 rebounds per game.
Steven's junior campaign also saw postseason accolades, earning Greater Spokane League Second-Team honors and All-State Tournament Team.
Stevens on why he chose Idaho: "I chose Idaho because of the family feel when I met the coaches and some of the guys. Another big deal was the familiarity that I have with the current players - I have played with a few of them during my high school and AAU career. Moscow is also close to home so all my family and friends have the opportunity to come see me play."
Stevens' AAU experience consisted of six years with the No Mercy Elite Club and one year with Seattle Rotary.
